How Many Lessons Will It Take For Me To Pass My Driving Test?

There are many factors which contribute to how long it will take to pass your driving test, including financial and time constraints. Someone who is able to take a couple of lessons a week (and doesn’t struggle with the practical and theoretical application of learning to drive) will most likely be confident enough to take their driving test at an earlier stage than someone who feels less confident, cannot afford to have as many driving lessons as they’d like and struggles more with the practical and theoretical aspects of learning.

Regular lessons are important.

Try to keep the gaps as close together, one to two hours each week.   If you are unsure about any aspect of our driving lessons then please call.

Please note: If you have any special requirements or prior knowledge let me know when booking your driving lessons and I will be able to factor this in. If you have ADHD, Dyslexia or Dyspraxia please make me aware of this when booking.  You may have to tell the DVLA about a medical condition or disability.   You must tell DVLA if you have a driving licence and:  You develop a ‘notifiable’ medical condition or disability a condition or disability has got worse since you got your licence Notifiable conditions are anything that could affect your ability to drive safely.

                                                                                                     Terms and Conditions

  1. Eligibility: You must hold a valid UK/Northern Ireland provisional Category B driving licence. If presenting a photo card licence, it must be provided. For older paper licences, a valid passport is required for photographic identification. Pass Plus or Refresher lessons necessitate a full valid licence with identification as mentioned. You must meet minimum eye test requirements, able to read a standard UK-approved number plate at 20.5 meters (67 feet). If corrective lenses are necessary, they must be worn while driving.
  2. Notification of Changes: Inform your instructor of any changes in your ability or entitlement for driving tuition, such as licence revocation or medical conditions like epilepsy.
  3. Cancellation Policy: A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required for lesson cancellations. Failure to provide adequate notice will result in charges. Cancellations can be made via phone or text message and must be acknowledged by your instructor.
  4. Late Arrival Policy: If you fail to show up for a lesson after your instructor arrives at the pre-arranged pick-up point, a 10-minute wait period will be enforced. After which, if no contact is made, the lesson will be charged.
  5. Schedule Changes: While efforts will be made to adhere to lesson schedules, unforeseen circumstances such as breakdowns or traffic delays may necessitate changes. If a lesson is cancelled by your instructor, no fee will be charged.
  6. Payment Terms: Lessons must be paid for in advance or at the time of the lesson by cash or balance transfer. Cheques are not accepted. Late payments will incur a fine of £6 per hourly tuition.
  7. Safety Requirements: You must not drive under the influence of drugs/alcohol during training. The instructor reserves the right to withhold the use of the training vehicle if there are signs of drug/alcohol misuse. Any medication affecting driving should be disclosed to the instructor and DVLA medical board.
  8. Standard of Driving: Failure to reach a satisfactory driving standard or being unfit due to substance abuse may result in the instructor withholding the training vehicle for the driving test. This is a safety precaution for all parties involved.
  9. DVSA Responsibilities: The instructor is not responsible for tests cancelled by the DVSA. Lessons must be paid for but can be claimed back from the DVSA. The instructor cannot be held responsible if you fail due to an eyesight test.
  10. Bulk Payment Usage: Bulk payments must be utilized within a three-month timeframe unless exceptional circumstances are accepted by the instructor.
  11. Refunds: Refunds will be issued based on the normal hourly rate at the time of refund, not when initially paid.
